Usain Bolt, the world's fastest man, qualified for the 200-meter finals on Tuesday in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Bolt, who set the world and Olympic record in the 100-meters on Saturday, could become the first track and field runner to win the 100-meters and 200-meters in the same Olympic Games since Carl Lewis in 1984. Bolt, the Jamaica native,won the gold medal for the 100m in historic fashion, running a time of 9.69seconds while pounding his chest with 15-20 meters left in the race. Bolt had the fastest qualifying time of all of the 200-meter heats, running in 20.09 seconds. Sylvia Fowles helped to lead the U.S. women's basketball team to a quarterfinal win on Tuesday against South Korea in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Fowles scored 26 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in the 104-60 win against South Korea as the U.S. team advances to the semifinals.
