Even when all concerned are on the same page, bringing product to market is a difficult process. Add in a few people and/or conditions that are not pulling in the same direction, and the entire process can become a major headache. Some markets are more oriented toward the headache end of the spectrum but are generally that way because there is a tremendous payoff when the product does make it to market. An investor who wants a big payoff is an investor who is willing to ride the ups and downs of a tumultuous development process to a profitable end.

In some markets, companies rate an investment a “buy” when it meets a generally accepted set of parameters. In a certain sense, this method of investing in a market reduces risk to a proven and generally accepted formula. Every now and again, however, a new process comes along that may alter this generally accepted strategy. If an investor can find a company that may have something new in its research pipeline, they may want to look closer and consider breaking this strategy for a shot at a nice profit.
Micromet Inc., a development stage biopharmaceuticals company, works to develop and market pharmaceuticals directed at cancer, inflammation and autoimmune disease. The Dow Jones has been swimming in shark-infested waters for the past week, and today may have been the day the sharks finally grabbed ahold. The chart has been forming a bearish pattern, which was highlighted in our previous blog article, http://blog.qualitystocks.net/?p=11697. After the near 200 point drop today, the chart is now sitting right at the support trendline that needs to hold in order for the bulls to still be in charge (yellow circle). The next few days will be critical in determining which direction the overall markets will choose to head.

The Herfindahl-Hirschman Index (HHI) destroys inorganic growth value. The purpose of business management is not to cozy up to the competition. The ‘take no prisoners’ battlefield culture must celebrate HHI scores over 1800, regardless of regulator concerns.
We are here to make money from stocks, rather than to try and influence the Washington administration. So let us work on increasing market concentration in legal ways. Nothing stops the companies in which you are interested from taking market shares away from competitors through organic routes.
Service can be the missile against which HHI regulators have no shields. Competitors are welcome to have products with similar features, but you are free to brand with distinction. Customer insights, process excellence, and interactive skills can set you apart even in a market with negligible concentration.
Another approach to jump over the HHI hurdle is to look for unmet needs. The Fed cannot punish you for creating monopolies through sheer creativity and

Understand them or ignore them, you cannot live any longer without semiconductors. You could drop and break any electronic gadget, and lose a semiconductor in a flash without realizing it.
This industry has grown in market capitalization by nearly 5% during the first half of 2008. This should be indication enough for stock investors to sit up and take notice, for this period has been one of the worst in recent memories. There are some 200 types of stock listed on major stock exchanges. The industry has a liberal sprinkling of small-capital stocks.
You can choose between corporations that design, produce, or market semi-conductors. This industry is included in the Technology Sector, so investors should have sound judgments as to the best materials of construction and the widest applications in the business.
The Semiconductors Industry will appeal to patriotic stock investors. This is a business in which the United States is a clear world leader. Even the most established European and Japanese
